The Choose Renewable Program allows the purchase of 300 kilowatt-hour renewable energy blocks for $2 each.
This additional cost can be added to your monthly utility bill, and three blocks are enough to offset an average home’s energy usage. There is no equipment to buy or install, which means no worry over payback periods or annual maintenance costs.
This program is available both to residents and businesses served by the utility.
For over 20 years, the program has helped grow renewable energy usage in communities and fund projects in the region through renewable energy grants for nonprofit organizations. The renewable energy resources are located in the Midwest and include biogas facilities, wind farms and solar arrays.
